It appears that PAW2 doesn't allow (or is it recognize?) image and text files that are attached to SOURCES and EVENTS in imported GEDCOM files.
I use ROOTSMAGIC on a PC and export to GEDCOM so some relatives with MACs can see the family history, etc. and would like them to be able to easily link from a person (or family) directly to these files. (JPG, PCX, TIF, BMP, TXT, DOC, RTF)
Note that RootsMAgic ALSO needs some alterations to the way it creates GEDCOM files - I'll be asking them for the changes.

Hi, No, PAWriter does not recognize images that are embedded in a GEDCOM. This "feature" of the GEDCOM standard is very nonstandard so I don't implement it -- it varies by each genealogical program. The Scrapbook feature of PAWriter allows for portability of images between users of PAWriter, but not to or from other genealogical programs. Nor does PAWriter deal with .doc or .rtf files. Sorry. Maybe the Mac program Reunion does -- I think its scrapbook concept is similar to PAWriter but called something different. You might check it out. Best, Howard
