Howard,
Great program. Thanks for sharing it.
I've mistakenly created a partner for a person. I did not name the partner, so it just shows as 'unknown.' I can't remove it. When I click on it, nothing happens. I can't edit an unknown person. It seems that this person is stuck with 2 partners, 1 being 'unknown,' and there's nothing I can do about it.
Help!
Jim

Howard, Thanks for creating PAW2U and enabling me to finally use my PAF data on my MacBook Pro. I have a couple of problems; In 'Find Person' I have an instance of a male ancestor whose partner is listed twice (on the left part of the display) and yet she appears only once in the scrolling right hand display.
What I have been trying to do is join gaps in ancestral lines by either 'adding parents' or 'adding children' and then using the 'merge person by name' function.
That is obviously not the correct way to go about it.
regards, David

To get rid of one appearance of the wife, make that wife the current wife and choose Person menu > Delete This Family. Then the other appearance of the wife is the only appearance. The merge function can be very tricky, in that it drags along parents, spouses and children that you may not want.

I am having the same problem: I have an Unknown partner. I have tried, on the main screen, to delete the family with success. When I try again to "Add a Partner to this person" the dialogue box adds another Unknown in a "blued-out"text entry point. It is impossible to type in the dialogue box with the real partner's name. I downloaded and am using Ver. 102 on a Snow Leopard MacBook. Downed the computer, exited the program, tried several times. I have used the program for several years and added several people already today. Something isn't right! Oh, and I can't add children either!

After adding the new (initially unknown) partner, open the Family window for that family. You can double click in the unknown partner to add the name, etc., and then in the same Family window you can add any children. If you still have problems, try downloading and installing v102 again in case the original download was corrupted. Then if you still have problems, post another message here.
