Hi, Excuse the stupid question. My family tree (on paper) is numbered 1 for me 2 for my father and 4 for my grandfather and so on. Am I doing it all wrong? Can I rearrange my IDs? Should I? Harvey Attachments:

Hi, Excuse the stupid question. My family tree (on paper) is numbered 1 for me 2 for my father and 4 for my grandfather and so on. Am I doing it all wrong? Can I rearrange my IDs? Should I? Harvey Hi Harvey, Those IDs (RINs as they are more commonly called) have no permanence. They are automatically assigned; they go away when a person is deleted and are reused when a person is added. In fact, they are nothing more the the index of the person's infomation internally to a PAWriter data file, as is done in other genealogical programs. So just ignore them for any permanent documentation purpose. Best, Howard
