I can't seem to find a way to do this as it currently stands, but I may just be missing it. Is it possible to search for female spouses by first name only (so if their maiden surname is unknown, or I just don't remember it at the time of the search), and then the surname of their husband? This would come in very useful when checking census records and Vital Statistics records. An example clarify: Jim Boyle is the spouse, who married Esther (last name unknown) I could search for this person by selecting 'Esther Boyle' as the name (call it married name). Thanks!

Hi Curtis, Yes, that ability is already built-in. Click on the Tag by Matching button. You will see a Template window. Opposite the name line, enter Boyle,Jim. Opposite the partner line, enter ,Esther. Click enter and then OK. All partners of any Jim Boyle whose first name (actually any given name) is Esther will be tagged. To see a more illustrative example, hold down the shift key and move the cursor to the upper left-hand corner of the Template window. This replaces the old "search for individual" window in the old Mac PAF, which didn't allow including marriage info. Like you, I needed to search for married women whose surname was unknown. So there it is, and with many more options. Best, Howard

Thanks... I had used the template before, but I didn't realize you could specify just a surname or a given name in the name fields. Thanks!
