I am able to to add LDS baptism and endowment information; however, the option to seal to parents is grayed and I can't choose it.

Howard, I'm still getting a situation where the parents are sealed to each other and I can seal some of their children (all siblings) to their parents but not others. All children are baptized and endowed.

Howard, I'm still getting a situation where the parents are sealed to each other and I can seal some of their children (all siblings) to their parents but not others. All children are baptized and endowed. I got your file and found a family with the parents sealed and two of five children sealed to those parents. I made each of the other three children the current person and sealed them to the parents. No problem. Make sure you make each child the current person and then choose Add LDS Sealing to Parents from the LDS menu, and enter the date of the sealing, etc. You must enter at least one piece of data, say the status or date, in order for the ordinance to be remembered. Otherwise, PAWriter assumes no ordinance has been performed. So if all you know about the ordinance is that it was performed, just enter COMPLETED in the status field. Best, Howard

We are new to PAWriter and have been using PAF5 on a PC. When we purchased our iMAC we found that PAF did not support OSX on the MAC. After doing several searches we came across PAWriter and installed it. However we have several questions concerning transferring or importing files from PAF formats, which the genealogy library supports, and when taking files to the temple are we able to export our files to the temple ready format for use at the temple?

You can import into PAWriter a GEDCOM that was exported from PAF 5 on a PC. You can export a TempleReady GEDCOM from PAWriter for use at a temple. See the Reference guide topic File Menu > Export GEDCOM > ANSEL. Also see the subtopics under LDS Menu. PAWriter supports essentially the same features that were present in Mac PAF 2.3.1. Hope this helps. Best regards, Howard

We have done as you suggested and were able to get the file to import in the GEDCOM format, however when we tried to save the file it would tell us that the file is locked and cannot be saved??? Any suggestions. Thanks for your earlier help!

Any suggestions. Thanks for your earlier help! One of two things happened. You may have tried to save the file to the disk image, which is locked. If so, copy PAW2X and the Reference folder to your Desktop or to the Applications folder, whichever you like. Then eject the disk image. Then re-import the GEDCOM and save the file to your Desktop or to the Documents folder, whichever you like, but not to the Applications folder.Or you may have tried to save the file to the Applications folder which is available to all users on your machine and tries to protect itself from one user trying to change a data file in it. Best regards, Howard
