Thank you for the great program. I've been hanging on to my PPC mini just to run MacPAF in Classic mode, but can now make the move to Intel.
What is the proper extension for a PAW2X database file?
I know I don't really need it, but like to keep various versions (GEDCOM, MacPAF, Reunion) of the same database named the same. The Finder needs some difference, so they can exist in the same directory.
While I'm at it, do you know what extension MacPAF uses?
Thanks again.

Tom Hi Tom, MacPAF data files use no extension in OS 9. Neither do PAWriter data files in OS 9 nor OS X. In both cases, the launch of the program when you double click on a data file uses the invisible Type and Creator codes which exist in both OS 9 and OS X in the data files. But if you wish, the extension .PAW or .paw works in my OS X. But OS X uses the invisible codes in any case. Best regards, Howard

Thanks Howard.
I realize that neither MacPAF or PAW2X requires an extension to work correctly. I keep several versions of the same database and would like to use the same file name which OSX will not tolerate. I have: Family.familyfile, Family.ged, Family.paf, Family.paw which are all the same data.
Of course, once I settle on one program, this problem will go away.
Thanks for your help.
