When I import a GEDCOM file, the notes display a paragraph mark at the beginning of every single line. How do I hide these hundreds of paragraph marks? This happened because the program producing the GEDCOM used the CONT tag for every line entered, rather than using the CONC tag for continued lines. That's not the way it should be done. You can get rid of ALL of the paragraph marks by choosing Edit menu > Find & Replace in All Notes; enter \r (backslash r) in the Find in notes field; check mark the Replace with box; enter a space in the Replace with field; click OK; and click Yes in the next dialog box. Then each paragraph mark will be replaced with a space. You might want to FIRST replace paragraph marks that don't have any text with a real paragraph break; enter \r\r in the Find in notes field; check mark the Replace with box; enter \p in the Replace with field; click OK; and click Yes in the next dialog box. Then each empty paragraph mark will be replaced with a paragraph break. This takes care of the case where the GEDCOM used a blank CONT line to represent a paragraph break.
