Howard:
I have one specific line in my database with 10 generations. I would like to break the link between the 6th and the 7th generation because of an error. Therefore, I want to keep generations 1-6 linked, and I want to keep generations 7-10 linked. I don't want to delete anybody because I don't want to lose the notes, citations, photos, etc..
So, the bottom-line question is: is there a way to sever that link without having to delete any person or persons?
Hope this is clear.
Thanks.

So to break the link, go to the Family window for the parents in the 6th generation, click once on the child in question, choose Family menu > Remove This Child from This Family and click Yes. Now the child is the progenitor of a new line. Best, Howard
