Howard: I'm getting ready to make hardcopy printouts of several reports so I want to make sure I am getting the data that I expect. With nearly 8,000 records, it would not be easy to notice a missing record in a printout. Some of the reports will be private so I will want to include living persons. Other reports will be public, so I want to suppress the data for living persons. My questions: 1. If a person is dead but I don't insert a death date because I don't know it, does PAWS automatically assume the person is living unless I select "deceased" in the "Died" box? 2. Is PAWS "smart" so that it considers a person to be dead if they were born 110 or more years ago even though I have not entered a death date? 3. Do I need to select "living" (in the "died" box) in order to guarantee that PAWS will suppress that record? I checked the manual but couldn't find any reference to this subject. I hope these questions are expressed clearly. Thanks. ~Lou

The entire algorithm is given therein. Otherwise, 1. No, it assumes the person is dead unless you enter Living, or use the Set and Tag Living People function. 2. No. Only if you use the Set and Tag Living People function for 110 years ago. 3. Yes, unless you use the Set and Tag Living People function. Best, Howard
