It's been observed that the scroll wheel on a mouse doesn't always work with PAWriter. It mostly works in the OS 9 version of PAWriter and sometimes works in the OS X version. (A few other programs may exhibit this deficiency.)
Unfortunately I don't have any control over the scroll wheel in my development environment. Sorry.
So the best that you can do is use the home, end, page up and page down keys,1 and the up and down arrow keys for finer control. Or, of course, mouse the scroll bar and scroll bar arrows. ________________ 1If your keyboard doesn't have these keys, you can use control-A for home, control-D for end, control-K for page up and control-L for page down.

Just curious, what version of REALBasic are you using which does not allow scroll-wheel development?

Just curious, what version of REALBasic are you using which does not allow scroll-wheel development? Hi Dave, The one that defaults to MacRoman, so I don't have to add all that code that converts to and from UTF-8, as we discussed before, and also compiles on and for both OS 9 and X -- 4.5.3. Maybe when I have a few months available to modify a significant portion of the 60,000 lines of source code in PAWriter, as we discussed before, I will move to a later version. Meanwhile see the topic "What Macs run PAWriter" under "FAQs" to see what Macs the version I'm using supports (i.e., all).

Sorry, I should have more more clear. I meant, what version of REALBasic are you using. Since I don't know which one "defaults to MacRoman", i'm afraid that small hint is no hint to me. I'm just curious if your version is really recent or if it is rather old and perhaps a newer version does the scroll wheel rhumba. I know REALBasic just released a new version, that's why I ask. Is your from 2007?
