Sorry it has been a while since my last visit to the forum. It appears version 103 is still the latest and greatest, is this comment correct? Are there any plans for a new release in the near future?
Sincerely
Lester

Sincerely Lester Hi Lester, Version 103 is still the latest and greatest. As to plans for new releases: I’m aware of the upcoming limitation in the next version of macOS ( after High Sierra after Mojave) to 64-bit apps only. PAWriter as of now is 32-bit. My plan has been to upgrade PAWriter this year. However, I’m occupied taking care of my partner Barbara who has advanced emphysema and requires my full time attention. So I don’t know if I can/will be able to do the upgrade in the foreseeable future. So I will notify everyone in the next couple of months as to what I will be able to do with regard to an upgrade. Sorry about this.Bear in mind that PAWriter will continue to work under macOS High Sierra in the future as far as anyone knows, just not under the next macOS versions whatever they will be named. (You might investigate Ancestral Quest at www.ancquest.com/orderonline.htm#AQ14 as another possible alternative.) Best regards, Howard Apple change: Bear in mind that PAWriter will continue to work under macOS High Sierra Mojave in the future as far as anyone knows, just not under the next macOS versions whatever they will be named.

I would hate to see this wonderful program go away. I certainly understand family situations. Would you consider making PAW open source? I don't have a lot of coding experience, but maybe the program could be upgraded to a 64 bit application without great pains.

I don't have a lot of coding experience, but maybe the program could be upgraded to a 64 bit application without great pains. I'd love to. But please note it is written in REALbasic, an older version of Xojo, and has some 60,000 lines of code, some pretty complex. It might be a big job which is why I haven't had the opportunity to do the conversion myself. If you have access to the Xojo IDE and have some familiarity with it, I could send you the source code (large). Let me know what you think. And thanks for the offer in any case. Best regards, Howard N.B.
