Q: Why is PAWriter named PAWriter II?
A: There was a PAWriter I back in the 1990s. It was a utility program I wrote for the old Mac PAF. It hacked into the file structure of PAF, retrieved the data and formatted reports such as registers and ahnentafels. That's all it did, no editing of data. The limitations of the old Mac PAF led me to create PAWriter II as a complete standalone genealogical program.
