Q: How many people can I put into a PAWriter data file?
A: Technically, you can have up to a half-million people in a file without any degradation of features, up to two billion people with some degradation of features. Realistically, a half-million-person file would require a faster Mac than is available today to run efficiently.
Nevertheless, I am working with a data file containing 40,000 people in 14,000 families and 1,000,000 words in notes. On my dual-boot 1.4 GHz G4, under either OS 9 or OS X, processing is nimble with no noticeable slowdown. (It uses about 100 MBs of RAM under OS 9.)
