Hello Howard,
Just downloaded your PAWriter software on to my new iMac.
I've started my first Family Tree and I'm very impressed.
Your program is easy to use (even for an old-timer like me). It does everything I need.
I especially like the facility for adding photos as shown in your example. I've double clicked 'scrapbook' and found 2 folders - 20th Century Metcalfes' and 'Oberwinders'.
Unfortunately I can't figure out how to create my own scrapbook in which, I assume, I store my photos prior to pasting them into the wallet.
Could you spare the time to explain the steps (in simple terms) I need to follow in order to insert a photo.
Best wishes Peter

Best wishes Peter Hi Peter, Make sure you move the PAWriter application and the Reference folder to some folder on your disk (say the Application folder). Make sure there is no scrapbook there (you may have moved the scrapbook from the disk image but that's just for the example file in the disk image). Now when you open a wallet, if there is no scrapbook, a new one will be created for you in the folder containing PAWriter (say the Application folder). Then add your images into the Scrapbook folder. Best regards, Howard

I have tried to create a scrapbook, but am having no luck. I PAWriter when I go to open scrapbook, it says that I doesn't exist, do I want to create one, I click yes. But after that I still can't find it. You said to move Pawriter and the reference folder to the hard drive. When I look at my hard drive I see Pawriter there but no reference folder. What am I doing wrong?
Thank You
Carl

What am I doing wrong? Thank You Carl Hi Carl, The Scrapbook folder is created in the same folder that contains the PAWriter program. For example, if the PAWriter program is in the Applications folder, then so is the Scrapbook. From your question about the Reference folder, I guess that you must be using an old version of PAWriter. Starting with version 88, there is no Reference folder. The Reference Guide which used to be in a separate Reference folder now is bundled into the PAWriter program, and the PAWriter program now has the file name PAW2U, and Reference Guide is now accessed through the new Help menu. And PAW2U is a universal binary which means it executes natively on both Intel and PowerPC Macs (much faster and more reliably than the old PAW2X non-universal version). The latest universal binary version of the PAWriter program was posted today. I suggest that you go to What's New in this forum and open the Version 91 topic, download it, read the Read Me First file and follow those instructions. Best regards, Howard
