In my family, the common practice was cousins marrying cousins or even uncles marrying nieces. Is there a way I could take a family that has already been notated be carried over in full to the new family?

Is there a way I could take a family that has already been notated be carried over in full to the new family? Not an unusual situation. I assume you have entered two related families and a member of each marries a member of the other. If this is the case, make the member of the first family the current person. Click on the Add Partner button. Add the member of the other family as the spouse. If the situation is different than what I assumed, let me know. Best, Howard

I have a similar question: what if one man marries to the sister of his dead wife?

I have a similar question: what if one man marries to the sister of his dead wife? Similar answer. No problem. Make the man the current person. In the Partners popup menu, choose Add Another Partner. In the Family window that appears, click on the Unknown partner to select her. From the Family menu choose Add Partner to This Family by Name. Find the sister in the list and select her. She will be added as the man's next wife. (If you know the sister's RIN you can use Add Partner to This Family by RIN instead.) If the sister already has a husband (presumably dead or maybe divorced), this man will automaticlly be added as her next husband.
