Is there a way to temporarily disable the printing of citations so that the notes only and not the citations print? I would like to print notes for family members who have little interest in the citations. Sometimes the citations are longer than the notes and I do understand their impatience at getting through to the notes. Suggestion?

Maybe you can delete the citations before sending them to your family members if you are sending them a text file. Hard to do in HTML and RTF files unless you know HTML and RTF. Best, Howard

Thank you for the reply. Now in 2010, I am checking in to see if perhaps there now exists a way to print notes without the citations.

Howard: I tried a Register printout in .rtf and it looks great. The only thing that puzzles me is: what is the superscript number that appears before each of the names. I first thought there were some footnotes but I don't find any.
Thanks. ~Lou

I first thought there were some footnotes but I don't find any. Thanks. ~Lou A superscript number before a name is that person's generation number. Generation numbers appear in the person's summary info, not in the notes. (This differs slightly from the standard established by the New England Historic Genealogical Society in their publications in that I place the number before the name rather than after the given names, which I think is better.) A superscript number after a name in the notes is a footnote number and in RTF reports is always enclosed in square brackets. (This is the standard established by the New England Historic Genealogical Society in their publications.) Best, Howard

Thanks, Howard. That certainly makes sense; makes it easier to find people.
Have a great day. ~Lou
