This is more of a techy question than a support issue because I worked around the "problem".
My son is interested in genealogy so I suggested he download the latest PAW software (which he did). I then assumed that I could send him (as an e-mail attachment) my data file (PAWsX_PAF), and he would be able to load it from whichever folder it was located in. It didn't work. Why?
PS I ended up tagging everybody in the database, then creating a GEDCOM file made up of all the tagged persons. I e-mailed that file to him and he was able to import it.

He should have opened the data file without a problem. I often receive other users data files when they have a problem they want me to look at. We've not had a problem opening those data files. Your son should have had no problem either after saving the attachment, say to the desktop of Documents folder or whatever. Maybe you should send me the file as an attachment and let me see if I can open it as I have others' files. Best, Howard hmetcalfe@roadrunner.com
