I was having trouble with a defective mouse for a few days, and accidentally added an "Unknown" partner for someone. I have tried everything I can think of to delete it, but I can't figure out how. When I click on "unknown", it doesn't become the active person. When I give her a fake name and then delete her using "delete person" or "delete this person from family", the unknown partner returns. How in the heck do I get rid of Mrs. Unknown?
Thanks,
Ricka

Thanks! In case this comes up again for someone else, I'm adding the complete explanation for what I did. With a name of "unknown" the application won't let you delete the family. I gave her a fake name, "Jane Doe" and then deleted the family. Then I deleted the person, Jane Doe.
Thanks again for a great application, Howard.

But you don't need to name the unknown wife. Just make the husband the current person and the unknown wife the current partner. Then delete the family. Since the unknown wife really doesn't exist in the file, she's gone and so is the marriage. If there were any children, they would be orphaned, but that's not the case here. In fact, when you delete a family, any "real" (named) wife and any children are not deleted, just left unattached. Pretty much the same as in the old Mac PAF.
